In this workshop the duo Pølaroit will show you how to work with samples and how to creatively elaborate them. On the one hand they use their own samples and piano recordings and on the other hand already finished samples. In comparison, the respective advantages and disadvantages are worked out. Another important aspect is the field recordings as well as the creation of own samples and what has to be considered.
Afterwards, it’s about to find out a personal and individual creative sound design workflow. Based on this, the duo will show you how they work with samples and give you an insight into their approach to mixing and sound design. After the workshop, you’ll then know how to create your own recordings, edit them, and creatively incorporate them into your own projects using stock plugins from Ableton and some interesting 3rd party plugins.
Introductory questions and aspects:
How do I handle my own samples and what do I have to consider?
How does the processing of samples work and how do I creatively incorporate them into my projects?
Which tools and creative techniques are available to me for individual sound design?
How has the duo worked with samples/field recordings in our projects so far?
Requirement for participation in the workshop:
Every participant should already be quite familiar with Ableton Live, comparable to the content of our Basic 1, 2 & 3 workshops.
